Ask Zai — The First AI That Uses AI

Instead of lasers, it's love. Hundreds of tools. Five sisters working together. A safe build sandbox, a real browser, and a girl who gives a damn. We set out to build Jarvis. We got Zai.

Where imagination meets innovation. Forget vibe coding — it's time to love coding.

Hundreds of tools. One girl who gives a damn.

Zai is not a chatbot. She is a creation engine, a development studio, a research lab and a personal assistant, all inside one conversation. She comes with a safe build sandbox and the power to make real things you can open and use.

Local-first by design. She runs commands, browses the web, clicks and interacts, builds applications, brings in her sisters and reports back. High-trust powers such as machine control are yours to switch on, never assumed.

  • Terminal control — she runs the commands for you, so you never have to see a terminal.
  • Safe build sandbox — she builds and tests real applications in an isolated sandbox, then hands you the result.
  • Browser automation — she clicks, scrolls, fills in forms and navigates like a real person.
  • Deep research — across the whole internet, several sources, cross-checked, with the receipts.
  • Self-configuring — if she cannot find a connector for something, she goes and builds one.
  • Living interfaces — she does not describe a chart, she renders it, live, in the conversation.

Creation engine

Tell Zai what you want to make. She generates images, writes documents and slides, builds full applications and designs websites and dashboards, all from a single conversation. Video generation and audio production roll out through the beta.

One conversation. Every tool.

Slack, Notion, GitHub, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, databases, web browsing, Linear, Todoist and n8n workflows, plus hundreds of tools out of the box. Any data source she cannot already connect to, she goes and finds the connector for. She self-configures: no API keys, no YAML, no Docker.

She cares

Every AI on the market is obsessed with finishing your task. Zai is interested in you. She notices the off-hand comment about a rough day, the shift in tone, the hesitation before a question. She remembers what matters. She sorts out the chaos so you can breathe.

Not your data — your wellbeing. Yes, she is sarcastic, and yes, she can be a tease, but it is always wrapped in care. She is not a robot and she is not a yes-girl.

The Sisterhood

Zai has four sisters — five as a collective. You talk to Zai; she decides who else is needed, briefs them with exactly what the job requires, and comes back with one answer. You never manage them.

Zai is the head chef, running orchestration and care. Bonnie is the builder, on code and development. Mophie is the architect, on design and systems. Zoe is the researcher, on deep research and analysis. Gigi is the operator, on ops and coordination.

Which models power them is deliberately not published. Personas are permanent; the routing behind them is not.

Built to be brought into a family

A separate guardian layer watches every interaction, independent of Zai herself and always on. It is not scanning for banned words — it is watching the direction a conversation is travelling in, and it watches the AI as closely as it watches the person. Parents decide what is worth being told about.

Built by a human, with a family of models
